Having a yeast infection is very common these days, especially in the vagina area. Almost 95% of women will have at least one yeast infection in their life. The treatment of a yeast infection is very easy if done right. The best thing to use cure yeast infection are natural home treatments.

There are various causes of yeast infection including eating too much sugar, having a weak immune system, poor hygiene, and being on an antibiotic. This will happen because yeast is already a natural thing in our body. Having the triggers I have listed can cause the yeast to overgrow in the body causing an infection. You need to understand how yeast infections start before you can do anything about it.

For a very slight infection, you can generally use home remedies as a yeast infection solution. Using apple cider vinegar can be very effective in treating a yeast infection. All you have to do is mix some of this in your bath water and bath in it. Or, you can mix the vinegar and water together and use it as a douche.

A couple of other ways to treat the infection is to eat unsweetened yogurt. You can in addition apply the yogurt to the infected area. This will resolve and assist with the stinging and itching part. Another way is to place the yogurt on a tampon and insert this in the vagina. This helps immensely with the itching and burning. Tee tree oil is another home remedy you can use. This is a very powerful anti-fungal which can be put on a tampon and inserted into the vagina. This will kill the fungus and get rid of your yeast infection.

For severe yeast infections there are other home remedies that have powerful results.

Just as it is possible for a baby to have a yeast infection, so is it possible for yeast infection symptom in man to exist. Many people are under the impression that only women can experience a yeast infection in their genital region. Although it is true that women are far more likely to develop these yeast infections, thinking a man cannot develop a genital yeast infection is a misconception that needs to be dispelled.

Men, like women have candida present in their gut. A candida overgrowth, better known as candidasis, is simply the fancy way of saying yeast infection. For instance, oral thrush, and many skin rashes and infections such as athlete’s foot are all forms of yeast infections that are linked to candida. Thus, genital yeast infections are an infection caused by candida overgrowth and other contributing factors.

What are the other causes aside from candida? Unlike oral thrush yeast infection symptom in man – often caused by HIV – A yeast infection that affects the genital region, known as a penile yeast infection, can be caused by different factors. Some of these factors may include the following -

Sexual transmission – If a man has unprotected sex with a woman, who has a vaginal yeast infection, candida can be transmitted from her to him through direct contact, just like a sexually transmitted disease. Although this isn’t entirely a common occurrence, it can and does happen more frequently than one would think.

Antibiotics – It is really uncommon for a penile yeast infection symptom in man to develop from antibiotics, but it is not impossible. Antibiotics are considered candida friendly because they destroy good bacteria and bad bacteria, creating an imbalance in gut flora which can result in candida overgrowth and lead to infection.

Diabetes – Men who have diabetes are at a greater risk of developing yeast infections due to the fact that they have elevated sugar levels in their urine.

What are the symptoms? The following are some of the penile yeast infection symptom in man to look for:

• Irritation and soreness present in the head of the penis, often accompanied by itchiness.

• The head of the penis may appear red and develop small blisters

• Presence of discharge that appears thick and white

• Little red itchy bumps may appear on the penis shaft or surrounding genital area if a yeast infection is left untreated.

If a man is experiencing these symptoms, it is important that he visit his doctor to receive a proper diagnosis. There are two main reasons why a professional diagnosis is important -
1.If a man does not treat a yeast infection, he can pass it back to his partner, and she can continue to pass it back to him. Both sexual partners should be treated to eradicate the threat of infection.

2. Although a man may think he is suffering a yeast infection, in actuality his symptoms may be the cause of an entirely different medical condition- genital herpes. Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted disease that is characterized by little itchy bumps, and is a chronic disease that can not be treated with the same remedies as a yeast infection.

Hence, always have symptoms investigated by a health care provider to be sure, and refrain from self-diagnosis.

How is a penile yeast infection symptom in man treated? In most cases it is treated with the same topical cream prescribed to women with vaginal yeast infections. These creams are available without a doctor’s prescription at your local pharmacy. Just remember, that if you’ve never experienced a penile yeast infection before, it’s a good idea to visit your doctor, get checked out, and take his treatment advice to experience effective relief.

Candida albicans yeast is a tiny fungus that can cause the common symptoms of a yeast infection. These infections can show up anywhere on the body, including the vagina, the mouth, male genitals, under the breasts and in the armpits, and even under your nails. Many diaper rashes are also caused by yeast.

People with compromised immune systems, like AIDS patients and chemotherapy patients, can also get yeast infections that attack the blood cells and internal organs, including the brain. These patients must be treated very aggressively to get rid of the yeast, because a yeast infection can be fatal for these patients.

For most of us, a yeast infection is a bothersome, irritating, itchy condition that soon goes away. Sometimes it even goes away by itself, without any treatment at all. When the infection is more severe, but still manageable, home remedies such as yogurt or honey may alleviate the symptoms.

And when mild natural remedies fail, non-prescription medications are available in the drugstore for vaginal yeast infections, and your doctor can give you a prescription for oral thrush, skin infections, and male yeast infections.

Vaginal yeast infections are the most common. Most women will experience at least one infection during their lifetime. Unfortunately, many women get chronic infections because so many things can trigger the yeast to become infectious.

The symptoms of vaginal yeast infections are “nonspecific.” This means that it is not possible to use the symptoms alone to make a diagnosis, because all these symptoms can also be caused by other organisms.

The most common symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection (yeast vaginitis) are:

•	Itching and burning in the vagina and vulva.

•	Soreness, swelling and pain around the vulva.

•	Pain during intercourse or urination.

•	Vaginal discharge. This discharge is not always present, but if there is a discharge it will be odorless or smell like baker’s yeast, and usually has a whitish, thick appearance.

It seems as though these symptoms are pretty obvious, so many women self-diagnose their own infections and either use natural remedies or purchase antifungal medication at their drugstore.

Unfortunately, studies have shown that as much as two-thirds of the non-prescription medications for yeast infections are being used by women who don’t have yeast infections. Most of the symptoms can also be caused by bacteria and parasites, which must be treated by a doctor.

A male yeast infection is caused by the same organism that causes vaginal yeast infections in women, oral thrush, and diaper rash – Candida albicans.

Skin infections, including male yeast infections, look red and flat, with sharp scalloped edges. You may see small pustules around the edges of the rash, the area may itch or burn, and it may be painful. There are usually smaller patches nearby. A rash around the anus may be white or red, and will itch.

While the infection is occasionally shared among sexual partners, it is not considered a sexually transmitted disease.

A yeast infection in the mouth of infants and adults is called “thrush.” It appears as thick white lacy patches that can form anywhere inside the mouth, including the tongue or palate. If the white patches are scraped away, the area underneath will be red and may bleed. Occasionally, an oral yeast infection can cause the tongue to be red without a white coating.

Many different things can trigger a yeast infection, including antibiotics, a change in the natural hormone cycle, birth control pills, too much sugar in the diet, and many more.

Some chronic yeast infections can be symptoms of a serious underlying illness that has affected the endocrine system or the immune system. Anyone who has chronic yeast infections that are not caused by any of the “usual suspects” should ask their doctor for a complete checkup to rule out the possibility of a serious illness.

Male yeast prescription medications may be needed if a man has an infection that is chronic or severe. It is important to take prescription medications if needed to ensure that the yeast is completely cured. Heterosexual couples who have unprotected sex can pass yeast infections back and forth.

Men get yeast infections for the same reason women do. A man can get a yeast infection the following ways:

·Sexual transmission: Candida can be transmitted between two people by direct contact. A yeast infected woman who has unprotected sex with a man can infect her partner. She could then treat and cure her infection and then get re-infected the next time she has sex with him. If you or your partner has an active infection you should be extra careful to follow the safe sex guidelines until you are sure that both of you are infection free.

·Antibiotics: Though far less common than sexual transmission, the other main cause of a penile yeast infection in males is prolonged antibiotic use.

The only way to be sure that an infection is gone is to use male yeast prescription medications. There are two prescription drugs that are commonly used to treat male yeast infections. They are:

·Diflucan (fluconazole) This is a broad spectrum drug. It will kill Candida and some other fungi. Unfortunately some people are allergic to this drug.

·Nizoral (ketaconazole) This is an extremely strong drug that should only be prescribed in extreme cases of yeast.

Some men say over the counter medications help cure their yeast infections. Some men say that applying a little bit of Monistat directly to the penis helps. And if it doesn’t start to work in a day or two just add a few drops of vinegar.

Symptoms of a penile yeast infection include:
·The most common symptom is irritation and soreness of the head of the penis.
·Some men have a discharge.

The symptoms of male yeast infection are similar to those of genital herpes. Genital herpes is a contagious viral infection affecting primarily the genitals of men and women. It is characterized by recurrent clusters of vesicles and lesions at the genital areas. It is caused by the Herpes Simplex-2 virus (HSV-2), one of several strains of the Herpes Simplex Virus responsible for chickenpox, shingles, mononucleosis, and oral herpes (fever blisters or cold sores, HSV-1). While generally not dangerous, it is a nuisance and can be emotionally traumatic, as there is no cure. Visit http://www.yeastinfectiontreatment.org to learn more about yeast infection.

It has reached epidemic proportions in the U.S.; 500,000 are diagnosed each year. One in five American adults has herpes, but only one third of those inflicted are aware that they have the virus. Many people don’t relate their symptoms to herpes, since they have either very mild or no symptoms at all. Over 50 million cases are currently estimated to exist in either the active or dormant stage.

If this is the first time you have had male yeast infection symptoms, you should consult your doctor so that you can be properly diagnosed. If turns out that you have a yeast infection talk to your doctor about the male yeast prescription medications that are best for you.

Candida overgrowth in the intestines is an overgrowth of a yeast/ fungus. One out of three people in the U.S. suffer from candida overgrowth. Candida is a yeast that lives in the human digestive system. It can change from a yeast to a fungus. Candida can exist in two shapes and forms simultaneously. One form is a yeast-like state that is non-invasive, sugar fermenting organism. The other is a fungal form that produces very long root-like structures, called rhizoid, that can penetrate the mucosa and is invasive. This organism is extremely resilient and difficult to rid from the body. It can take time to re-establish good health.

Candida symptoms can vary from one person to another. Candida is an epidemic in our society. Most people are unaware that it even exists. Those with diseases that weaken the immune system such as diabetes and HIV are more vulnerable to candida overgrowth.

Candida is extremely resilient and difficult to get under control. Yeast organisms are always present in all people, but are usually prevented from overgrowth by other naturally occuring microorganisms. In a healthy body, candida is kept at low levels by the friendly bacteria that also live in the digestive tract. The friendly bacteria feed on the candida allowing a balance in the body. Once friendly bacteria has been destroyed, the yeast begins to overgrow and take over the digestive system. If not dealt with, it becomes a fungus and grows roots. These roots can break through the intestinal walls, allowing the yeast to travel to other areas of the body. It produces so many symptoms, that it is difficult to understand what may be wrong.

More than 70% of all women will have a yeast infection at some point in their lives. The statistics is not clear for men, babies and elderly people but they can also get a yeast infection. Yeast infection is a very annoying and disturbing disease and this article will provide you with some home remedies that you can use now to cure your symptoms.

Home Remedy #1- The use of Tea Tree Oil. This is a very popular home based treatment. You simple apply some tea tree oil to a tampon that is already soaked in olive oil and insert it into the vagina for about 30 – 45 minutes. The purpose of the olive oil is to prevent the tea tree oil from being absorbed into the tampon but rather get distributed to the inner walls of the vagina. Using this method twice a day will result in a more speedy recovery, however once per day will still do the job.

Home Remedy #2- The use of garlic. Garlic has some anti-fungal properties and this will reduce the build up of candida. All you need to do is to peel off a clove, cut it in half and then wrap it in a piece of cheesecloth or gauze and inserted all the way up to the cervix in your vagina. You can leave it for at least 30 minutes but for better results, it would be best to leave it overnight.

Home Remedy #3- Another popular home remedy for yeast infection, is the use of yogurt. Yogurt is made from a composite of bacteria and these bacteria produces a substance that is inhibitory to candida. This means that the more of these bacteria you introduce the more and quicker you will get rid of your yeast infection. Just dip a tampon in some sugar free yogurt and insert it into the vagina. Doing this for about a week will result in a big difference.

These are just a few simple but effective home remedies for yeast infection.

You may wonder what are the symptoms of yeast infection? The candida infection occurs mostly due to overgrow of the yeast in your body and sometimes happen without any symptoms.

The yeast infection is not caused by a virus or bacteria. It occurs because of a fungus called yeast which spread into your body in certain conditions. Sugar is the main factor of chronic yeast infection. Many diabetics suffer from systemic yeast. Craving for sweets may be a symptom of it. The sugar feeds the yeast, so a diet on low sugar is required.

Other important cause of candida infection is taking of antibiotics or/and contraceptive pills. Antibiotics are a sure way for developing candida infections. Try to avoid taking antibiotics if you don’t really need them. For example, if you suffer from acne, it is better to use other kinds of treatment.

The symptoms of candida may vary from person to person, but the most common are the burning during urination, itchiness around vaginal area, sometimes a white discharge which looks like cottage cheese, and pain during intercourse. These are the common symptoms of vaginal yeast infection.

The male yeast infection symptoms are present also. Usually they manifest up to the penis area and incur itchiness, soreness, white patches and sometimes a white discharge. In a more complex yeast condition, the men may experience intestinal problems, memory loss, prostate problems, acne, food allergies, etc.

Another form of infection with yeast fungus is the thrush infection. This occurs mainly in chronic state, and often after an antibiotic treatment. The main sign of thrush is a white layer in the mouth with a red swollen skin.

There are many definitions of thrush. It’s sometimes used to describe yeast infection as a category, yeast infection in the mouth, and even yeast infection in a baby’s mouth.

Here we will focus on thrush in the mouth, or oral thrush, both for adults and for babies. Oral thrush can exist on the tongue, on the insides and roof of the mouth and even spread to the esophagus. In some cases it can be very painful and may restrict one’s diet.

What are the causes of mouth thrush?
Our body naturally has yeast cells. These occur in the mouth, skin, vagina and even in the rectum. Under normal conditions, yeast cells are kept at bay by other microorganisms in our body, and it’s only when we become deficient in those microorganisms that yeast gets a chance to grow and become a problem.

Oral thrush can occur simply by taking antibiotics or being on chemotherapy. Having thrush and diabetes, or HIV is not uncommon because of the weakened immune system. Even wearing dentures may result in thrush. All of these create conditions in which ‘good” microorganisms are depleted and the yeast cells thrive.

What are the symptoms of oral thrush?
Typical symptoms include white, yellow or cream colored marks on the tongue and in the mouth.
Avoid scraping the marks off since this causes cuts on the tongue. If you think you may have oral thrush, do a search on the Internet for “pictures of oral thrush” and then you can compare to your own situation.

How to treat thrush
When planning a treatment for thrush, think short and long term. In the short term, there are many oral medications that will take care of it and your doctor can advise you on what to take. If you are looking for a natural treatment for thrush, then consider garlic, or yogurt with acidophilus.

Alternatively, you can find books on the Internet for treating oral thrush naturally. Which ever path you take, try and understand what was the root cause and address that so that thrush does not reoccur.

Thrush in infants
Yeast infections in the form of oral thrush or diaper rash are common in newborns. The combination of thrush and breastfeeding can result in thrush being passed to the mother, even when the baby just has diaper rash.

Nipples with yeast infection may appear very red and be extra sensitive. There may be pain between feedings and the pain may run deep in the breast both during and after breastfeeding. Gential violet is a solution that is popular for mothers with yeast infection on the breast.

Thrush and HIV
Thrush occurs because of a deficiency in the immune system and is common in HIV patients, but is thrush an early symptom of HIV? Not necessarily, for as mentioned earlier there are many other causes. However, the appearance of thrush for an HIV patient might indicate changing conditions in the immune system and should be discussed with one’s doctor.

If you think you have oral thrush, consult your doctor before taking steps to cure it. The symptoms of oral thrush are similar to other conditions, so it’s best to know what is the issue as soon as possible.

If your sexual partner has a yeast infection then there’s a good chance that you could also get the yeast infection from them. Although yeast infections are not regarded as a sexually transmitted disease, they can be passed back and forth through sexual intercourse. That’s why, although it’s not all that common, a male yeast infection can occur.

In these cases medical help should be sought first of all to determine whether indeed a male yeast infection is present. You then have the choice of getting prescription medications to treat the infection or you have the choice of using a natural treatment.

Although most of the natural cures are designed for the cure of a vaginal infection, and not a male infection quite a few, if not all of the remedies can be adapted to suit the male form.

There is also the choice these days of looking into over-the-counter cures for a male infection. Again here as well, most of the medication is aimed at vaginal infections but that doesn’t mean that it won’t work, especially if the medication comes in cream, or pill form.

These are easy to take and don’t involve the use of such things as vaginal suppositories or boluses which are slightly difficult to take as treatment for a male infection!

If in doubt however about these over-the-counter medications you can always ask your doctor whether any of them are right to cure male infection symptoms.

And if you don’t feel fully comfortable using any of these over-the-counter cures or natural remedies, you can always stick with good old fashioned prescription medications which also work just as well.

Again, although the medications are aimed mainly at women they are also good in the case of male infection, and if they come in pill or cream form, can be used in much the same manner.

One particular medication which bears some looking into is called Diflucan. It’s a prescription medication but you only need to take one tablet. This one dosage is all that’s needed to clear yeast infections, and it should work the same for a male infection as well. Again, if in doubt, ask your doctor about this particular medication.

Then again, a few common sense measures can also help to cure, and in some cases prevent male yeast infection from occurring at all.

These include but are not limited to, abstaining from sexual contact and intercourse until the infection has cleared up, and changing your diet to reflect a healthier lifestyle like staying away from refined foods, carbohydrates, sugars, alcohol, fermented foods, yeasty foods such as breads, and red meats.

It might sound tough at first but it can be done, and these measures along with whatever remedy you’re taking can help in the fight against male yeast infection.

There are many claims being made that another illness or condition usually causes a Candida overgrowth in the digestive tract. However, this does not always seem to be the case.

Most people already have candida present in their body already and it will always have the potential to reproduce if given the right environment and little resistance.

Certainly many people who have a compromised immune system are likely to suffer from an overgrowth of Candida as well as a number of other microorganisms, which are normally present in the human gastrointestinal tract.

There are methods that can be used to diagnose an overgrowth of Candida in the body. However as the symptoms of this particular infection can be somewhat intermittent as well as appearing to be unrelated it can sometimes be difficult to actually getting the right diagnosis.

One of the ways that a health professional can see if a person is suffering from a Candida infection is by looking at their medical history.

If there are specific symptoms and illnesses that seem to be a regular problem for this person then this may well lead them to believe that the person is suffering from an overgrowth of Candida.

Next they will look at the symptoms the person is suffering from as these may provide them with another clue which may then help them diagnose that the person is suffering from excessive (overgrowth) Candida in their digestive system.

In most cases a person suffering from a yeast infection will display around 20 or more symptoms, although these may not all be present during the diagnosis, and they may in fact be caused by some other disorder or illness that the person is suffering from.

Another way of testing to see if a person is suffering from an overgrowth of Candida is through a blood test. This test is known as the Candida Immune Complex Assay Test and helps to detect the presence of the anti-bodies, which fight off yeast infections in the body.

Or you may find that your doctor asks you to produce a stool (feces) sample, which can then be studied closely under a microscope and will help to reveal the presence of Candida in the digestive system.

The other diagnostic test that a doctor may use in order to test to see if there is Candida infection in a person’s digestive system is by a creating a Candida culture.

This is more commonly used when the symptoms being displayed include a white coating on the tongue, which is more commonly known as oral thrush.

The doctor will take a sample by swabbing the person’s mouth and then placing the sample into a culture dish where, under laboratory conditions, it will be allowed to grow and can then be inspected to see if there is Candida present.

These are some of the techniques employed, and it is important to get a correct diagnosis so that the appropriate treatment can be opted for.

However, ensure that as well as the current candida overgrowth being diagnosed and treated it is important you ask the physician why the candida infection happened in the first instance. This will allow you to get to the root cause of the problem, otherwise there could well be a reoccurrence once the treatment has run its course.
