School Works! Program
Policies and Guidelines

1. The primary purpose of School Works! is to initiate and nurture partnerships and relationships of mutual benefit between businesses and schools, and to help the partnerships become self-sustaining when possible and practical.

2. The intended role of the School Works! organization is to arrange or facilitate programs and locate resources that respond to the expressed requests and needs of its partners.

3. School Works! will arrange or facilitate only those partnerships which do not conflict with the ethos or legal standards of its members. Similarly, School Works! will not work with organizations whose purposes or products are in said conflict.

4. School Works! will not arrange student training programs that, in effect, constitute the use of students in business for free labor. Work site student training programs are limited to those that provide meaningful learning experiences, involve trainers or instructors from the business, and do not include activities that the company would normally pay someone to do.

5. Programs and services provided by School Works! will be determined by available staff and resources.

6. The Board of Directors has the final approval of all partnerships and reserves the right to refuse partnerships.
